This is something I should have learned when I was 17 and not a 33 year old mother! The cheap "temporary" spray on hair dye from Walmart is not TEMPORARY!
Last night was the "Trunk or Treat" at the church, and I thought it would be funny to spray paint my hair pink. As soon as I got there, some of my friends told me that it might take me several weeks to get it out of my hair. I hadn't even thought of that.
What is worse, is that my bathroom is a disaster! Apparently a fine mist landed all over the place in there. And now, anytime water touches it.... everything turns pink. It's like water colors all over the place! It took me about an hour to clean the mess when I got home. I'm not sure the pictures will do it justice!
And.... for church today, I still had pink streaks throughout my hair!! So embarrassing!

We are so excited for Nathan and Candace! They are moving into their first new home this week! We spent the day helping them paint walls, sanding cabinets, and keeping Garrett happy. My parents were in town to help also. It was fun and Torry got a little carried away with the the Pumpkin paint!!
This reminds me of when we were in Chiropractic school, living in a trailer.... and he had a paint brush....
I'm guessing my parents never predicted this one when they nick named me Lexy.

Nominate me for "MOM OF THE YEAR!"
Today was Ty's school field trip. I wasn't really planning on going, but this morning I couldn't resist his cute little face asking me to be his "date" for the field trip. Of course I agreed! He told me the bus was leaving the school at 9 a.m. and to hurry and get ready. So..... because I had a million things to do and wasn't sure if I could make it to the school to actually ride the bus, I called the school for directions. I left my house at 9 a.m. and took the 1 hour trip to Austin to the Butterfly Museum. I stopped on the way to pick up a Lunchable and M&M's. (I had already packed a lunch for him, but this would be an added bonus that I know he would be happy about.) I get to the Museum and see all of the Marble Falls school buses. As I'm walking up to the first group of students, I see one of my other friends there and ask her where Ty's class is. She directs me to a different building. I go in there... still no sign of Ty or his class. They direct me to a different building. Still no sign. The next person I asked told me that Ty's class was not at this field trip... they are back in Kingsland. (which is 15 minutes west of Marble Falls!!) I had come to the 3rd GRADE FIELD TRIP!!!!!! Ty is at the 4th GRADE FIELD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could have died. I felt so bad. As far as I know, Ty thinks I didn't show up. I wasn't there by 9 a.m. to ride the bus with him..... and now I'm and hour and fifteen minutes away. I asked for a refund for my Butterfly Museum ticket and raced back to the car. I knew if I hurried.... I could make it back in time.......... cut to picture......
If you squint and make sure there isn't a glare on the screen (or just click on the picture for a larger view) .......... you can see where I spent the next HOUR of my life. Needless to say, I did not make it back in time to meet him for his field trip. I'm sure that he is fine without me, but I do feel so bad for "standing up" my baby.
I'm saving his Lunchable and M&M's for an after school snack.... and hoping he forgives me!
(Yes I did call the school and let them know about the miscommunication. They felt horrible.)

Papa Elvis
Torry's dad is an Elvis Tribute Artist! He is doing a show tonight in Marble Falls for the Realtors Association. The kids were excited because he stopped by here to get ready for the show. (For some reason the pictures turned out blurry!)

I Am Poem
I am brave and I love to play.
I wonder what my mom is doing at home.
I hear the A/C air conditioner.
I see the clock's hand moving.
I want to go to lunch, I am hungry.
I am nice and I love to have friends.
I pretend to fight evil warriors.
I feel my hands touching the desk.
I touch my bike a lot.
I worry about my brother, because I take care of him.
I cry when I do something bad.
I am brave and I love to play.
I understand a lot about my friend Brennan.
I say a lot of nice things to people.
I dream about having fun with my brother Kody.
I try to do my cool things outside.
I hope I do well in school this year.
I am brave and I love to play.

Well, torryhinsonfamily.com expired.... so I'll just use blogger.com from now on to keep you updated on our family. The account for that website was linked to Torry's yahoo account that he rarely checks, so I didn't even realize it was about to expire. Blogger.com is just as easy to use and this is a site that I have had for a while anyway.
So... the kids are home from school today for Columbus Day! We went to the mall in Austin and Torry got some new clothes for the office. Dillard's is having a really good sale, so you might want to check it out.
Ty and Kody had 2 friends spend the night on Saturday, so here's a cute picture of the party on the sofa bed. My parents and Nathan were in town that same night, so it was a crowded house! I had to cram all four kids into the living room!
