Today was the Bluebonnet Festival 5K fun run in Burnet. I signed up with my running buddy Denise and my goal was just to try to keep up with her! She is Mrs. Speedy Gonzales!! When the gun went off... she was outa there!! I stayed about a car length behind her during the race... (sometimes 2 or 3 car lengths!!) ...But for the most part, I was able to hang just behind her! This is a definite improvement from last year!!
The other fun thing, is I ran into my original running buddy from Tow!! I was so excited to see Aimee and her sister Heidi there too! We had a great time just being together and hanging out. Why does she have to live 45 minutes away??
Soo.... my official time was 25:20! A personal best for me....
and the added bonus was that I won 1st place in my age group!
We all won in our respective AGE categories! =)
It took me 34 years to get a 1st place medal! Woohoo!
When I was about 8 yrs old.... I won 4th place in my age group in a fun run in Deer Park. =)
